About us
Ludmilla “Milla” Benevides, a native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, first immigrated to the United States in 1999 to pursue a career in bossa nova music.
Even after arriving, she continued to embrace Brazilian culture by baking cheese puffs for friends and family. That inspired her to found Milla's Puffs.
"This product is very important to me, it's my way of sharing a piece of Brazil's rich culture! My grandma's cherished recipe for this incredible delicacy has been a gem passed down through generations. But I also must confess I love experimenting with new recipes and pairings."
Cheese puffs have been a Brazilian delicacy for nearly 200 years. Enslaved Africans in Brazil were the first to develop a bread alternative now known as "pão de queijo", as well as other important aspects of Brazilian culture. They first soaked and peeled the cassava root (tapioca) and mixed it with milk and eggs to make a bread alternative. Cheese wasn’t added until the 19th century.
Crafted with only the highest quality ingredients, Milla's Puffs embody Brazil's best-kept secret and are a national treasure. We only use real and non-GMO ingredients like tapioca flour, eggs, milk and grass-fed cheeses. It is proudly produced right here in Long Island - NY. It is delicious and naturally gluten free.
I'm honored to share this recipe with you! Savor the ultimate fusion of flavor, texture, and quality in each delightful bite. Whether you're gluten-free or not.
I hope you feel the joy of savoring many snacking moments with loved ones, creating memories for generations!
